Our recent meeting was packed with an insightful presentation from Waukesha County Recycling's Jenna Biermann, who shared valuable tips on everything from curbside recycling to home composting. We also have an exciting Annual Rotary Pontoon Outing planned for this Monday, August 11th, so get ready for a fun evening on the lake! Plus, learn about upcoming volunteer opportunities with the Artist Shuttle, Fall Fest Beer Garden, and the Rotary Bike Tour. And don't forget, we're collecting Beanie Babies for a good cause!

Waukesha County Recycling Insights
Waukesha County Recycling specialist Jenna Biermann (pictured) addressed recycling procedures with cans, cartons, glass, paper and plastic. She advised what not to include in the curbside recycling container. She described how refuse is sorted, the machines providing the system, household hazardous waste disposal tips, home composting methods, and simple ways to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Annual Rotary Pontoon Outing: This Monday!

Get ready for some fun on the water! Our Annual Rotary Pontoon Outing is happening this Monday, August 11th. We'll be launching from the Shorehaven lakefront. We're fortunate to have Joel and Matt driving Shorehaven boats, plus two additional private boats.

Time: 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Location: Shorehaven, 1306 W. Wisconsin Ave., Oconomowoc
Details: We'll gather at 5:00 p.m., with boats departing at 5:30 p.m. from the Shorehaven Pavilion/Pier. After touring the lake, boats will tie together around 6:30 p.m. for food, drinks, and socializing. Rotary will provide wine, beer, soft drinks, and sub sandwiches. Please bring an appetizer or dessert to share!

Artist Shuttle: We need volunteers to help shuttle artists to and from the Oconomowoc Festival of the Arts on August 16th and 17th. Contact Annemieke Van der Werf (info in Clubrunner)
Fall Fest Beer Garden: Earn funds for our club! We need Rotarians to sell beer at the Oconomowoc Beer Garden during the famous Fall Fest on Friday, September 5th. There are two shifts available: 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Our club gets 100% of the tips and a $600 donation! [Click Here to Volunteer]
Rotary Bike Tour: Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 13th for the Rotary Bike Tour! Pick up your yard signs, sign up to ride or volunteer on ClubRunner, sponsor a level, or help run the concession area.
