At our last meeting. . .
Danielle Herro: Web 2.0 Technology and Social Media Danielle Herro: Web 2.0 Technology and Social Media ?Educating using social media introduced Rotarians to a whole new cyber world, exploring brain research, response and retention. the platform included deciphering what is meaningless or meaningful, using Facebook as a learning tool, privacy and responsibility issues, engaging the digital natives and teaching using podcasts, wikis, blogging and video games. Mitigating between "excitement and fear," Herro said educators are exploring means to better reach the visual learners.

Oconomowoc Rotary honored Oconomowoc High School senior Lauren Davy May 17 with the Rotary Scholarship for her ability to overcome obstacles in her high school career. Davy hopes to pursue a degree in elementary education from UW-Whitewater. "In the arena of humal life, the honors and rewards fall to those who show their good qualities in action," nominating instructor Mrs. Mary Woytych quoted Aristotle. "Lauren has always pushed herself, taken extra classes, mission trips, babysitting and dogsitting jobs to stretch herself."
